THE MOJITO
With lime and soda as a local favorite in Cambodia, Mojitos are a logical next step — just add mint and rum!
Happy hour is a special time of day, whether you’re in a small rural town or one of the big cities, it’s possible to find a bar for happy hour.
Simple Mojito Recipe:
● 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
● 2 heaped teaspoons of fine sugar
● 1 cup of iced soda
● 12 fresh mint leaves
● 2 shots of white rum
● 2 tablespoons of soda water
Instructions: Mix lime and sugar together until the sugar dissolves (you could also use sugar syrup), then add some ice. Give the mint a good bash (slap between your hands or use a mortar and pestle) to intensify its flavor. Pour in your rum and soda water and top up with extra ice, if required.
If you want a straw, make it a reusable one. Or go without! Some experts say that this leaves around the rim, so sipping the glass will bring the full flavor.
Final preparation is making sure you’ve got a stellar view! Rooftop bars, riverside decks, fancy hotels, poolside relaxation — the choice is yours.
